CAMP DIRECTOR/ APPALACHIAN CHILDREN'S CHORUSCHRISTOPHER BROWNChris has taught music education for 22 years with 20 years in NC and 2 years here in WV. He currently is the Artistic Director of the Appalachian Children's Chorus, the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Charleston, and the choral/ general music teacher at Horace Mann Middle School.
RIVER CITY YOUTH BALLETMICHELLE RAIDER-SIMONMichelle graduated from Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts in Natick, Massachusetts with a major in ballet. She also holds a BS in Chemistry from West Virginia State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Ms. Simon started the River City Youth Ballet Ensemble, in 1995. In 2007 it was named by the WV State Legislature as the Official Youth Ballet for the State of West Virginia. In 2002 she started River City School of Dance. Along with dance she has been passionate about collaborations with other arts organizations leading her to be an instrumental part of the formation of Y.O.U. (Youth Organizations for the Arts). She is also committed to her outreach program she started in Clendenin, WV in 2011. CHILDREN'S THEATER OF CHARLESTONLEEANNE RHEINLANDERLeeAnne is also the Company Administrator for The Children’s Theatre of Charleston and enjoys acting, directing and theater production.
LeeAnne grew up in Bowling Green, OH and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University (home of the flying Falcons!) She enjoys anything crafty and loves to garden and be outdoors. KANAWHA COUNTY MAGNET MUSIC PROGRAMWALTER TUCKERWalter Tucker is a graduate of WVSU with a BA in Music Education. He has taught for Kanawha County Schools for 15 years. He is currently the director of the Kanawha County Magnet Music Program which is a gifted program for talented elementary music students from all of the elementary schools in Kanawha County. In addition to teaching, Walter is also Lead Elementary Music Teacher, Faculty Senate President, All County Chorus Co-Chair, and Technologist for the Kanawha County Majorette Festival. He also teaches private piano and guitar lessons and has been an instructor for the After School Music Program at Mary C. Snow Elementary for 5 years.
